Telecommunications | Broadband Microwave Absorbers
HSP manufacture a range of multi layer and single layer microwave absorbers catering for broadband and narrow band applications.
Products are available in fibre based and open cell foam based materials in a range of thicknesses and profiled foam variants.
Performances in excess of 20dB (less than 1% refection) over a wide frequency range, when placed on a metal ground plate are achievable. On the single layer materials the carbon loading is graded with the front face being easily identifiable ensuring ease of application.
The multi layered product is graded by different loadings of individual layers designed to give a controlled conductivity gradient. All types are light weight and flexible in construction and find applications in military and telecommunications industries. Our internal test equipment ensures control of manufacture at all stages.

Uses
Applications include shrouds for low side lobe reflector antennas, isolation of adjacent antennas and array elements, in radar absorbing blankets for military applications and in moderate performance anechoic chambers and less sensitive regions of high performance chambers.
